In addition, such development is achieved through implementing various learning initiatives, resulting from conducting training needs analysis at organizational, departmental and staff levels.
These include, for example, in-house training courses, such as health and safety, soft skills, patient experience, leadership and stress management.
PDU, in addition, facilitates local and international medical and non-medical conferences to expose staff to recent developments in their operational fields.

Further, organizing a leadership development program for emerging leaders; to prepare a pipeline for the second layer of leadership.

by a faculty who is equipped with high academic qualifications and relevant industry expertise.
Considering medical staff, DAR Al Shifa Hospital is registered with the Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialization (KIMS)
and authorized to conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME), which offers 1 CME credit/hour.
These CME events include lectures, symposia, conferences and workshops; and cover various medical topics of relevance to knowledge, skills and practices.
UPTODATE is another learning database that PDU provides to the medical staff at Dar Al Shifa Hospital.
It is a scientific resource used as a clinical decision support resource; and updates medical staff’s technical knowledge and practice development in their fields.

Internship:
PDU caters internship program studies that are feasible within the scope of DASH services and as per jurisdiction.
The university students are provided with an opportunity to conduct their project work in coordination with various departments within the hospital.

Registration Process:
Those interested to have an internship at Dar Al Shifa Hospital, are kindly requested to visit the Professional Development Unit with a recommendation letter from the referring institution to complete formalities of application.
The acceptance of the candidate shall be within 7 working days. Pre-registration is encouraged for all events.
