Scope of Clinical Practice:

Nipple-areolar surgery

  • Subareolar duct excision:
  • Total (Hadfield’s procedure)
  • Microdochectomy
  • Biopsy nipple-areolar lesion


Axillary surgery

  • Open diagnostic excision
  • Sentinel node biopsy: Dual or single mode (Tc99 +/- Patente blue dye)
  • Axillary node clearance or dissection


Breast conserving surgery (+/- Oncoplastic flap)

  • Wide local excision (lumpectomy)
  • Therapeutic mammoplasty:
  • Round-block
  • Lejoure, Batwing
  • Wise pattern (reduction +/- mastopexy)


Guided procedures for non-palpable breast lesions

  • Guide-wire localised excision biopsy/ wide local excision
  • Scout localised excision biopsy/ wide local excision
  • Ultrasound skin-marked excision biopsy/ wide local excision


Partial reconstruction (following breast conserving surgery)

  • LiCAP flap
  • LTAP flap
  • Mini LD flap


Mastectomy

  • Simple (flat chest)
  • Skin and/or nipple sparing (reconstruction):
  • Skin sparing (+/- nipple sparing)
  • Skin reducing (+/- nipple sparing)


Breast reconstruction (following mastectomy) (immediate or delayed)

  • Implant (one-stage) (pre-pectoral or subpectoral)
  • Tissue expander (two-stage) (pre-pectoral or subpectoral)
  • LD flap


Nipple reconstruction

  • (CV flap)
  • Grissotti flap


Symmetrisation surgery (contralateral breast)

  • Augmentation
  • Reduction, mastopexy
