The Plastic Surgery department at Dar Al Shifa Hospital provides a full range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery services. The department is committed to provide exemplary services utilizing up-to-date equipment and the latest internationally recommended techniques. The primary focus of the department is to meet the patient’s individual needs and overcome expectations.

Scope of Services:

  • Cosmetic Surgery: It focuses on enhancing a person's appearance and boost self-esteem by changing the way he/she looks. It can be performed on all areas of the head, neck and body. The key goals are to improve aesthetic appeal, symmetry, and proportion and eventually enhance self-image and self-confidence. It includes the following procedures: 
    • Facial Rejuvenation: It deals with visible signs of aging through removal of excess fats and skin as well as tightening underlying muscles and connective tissues. It can be done through surgical procedures such as facelift, neck lift, eyelid lift, and brow lift.

    • Body lift: It removes the excess sagging fat and skin in a specific area of the body in order to improve tissue elasticity and body contours. A body lift may be performed in various areas such as: abdomen and waist, thighs, hips and buttocks, upper arms, and chest. 

    • Breast Enhancement: It includes breast augmentation which is performed using implants or fats to increase the size of the breast. It also includes breast lift (mastopexy) which is done to correct drooping breasts. 

    • Facial balance: It provides a harmonious balance of the facial features. It includes chin surgery, ear surgery and rhinoplasty 

  • Reconstructive Surgery: It is performed to improve the functionality and mobility of an abnormal structure of the body including birth defects, developmental abnormalities, injuries, and age-related conditions. It is also done to restore normal appearance. It includes the following procedures:
    • Breast Reduction: Restoring the breast to normal shape, appearance and size by removing excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to have appropriate proportion with the body and to alleviate discomfort related to overly large size breast.

    • Cleft lip and palate: Surgical management of congenital facial and oral malformations to help the child achieve normal appearance, speech and eating.

    • Scar Revision: Reducing the appearance of a scar by making it more consistent with the surrounding skin tone and texture.
