Emergency Department

The Emergency Department (ED) at Dar Al shifa is a unit where significant investment and continuous improvement are greatly sustained and recognized. Considering the importance of providing quality of care on a timely manner, the ED offers emergency care 24 hours a day through a highly skilled and specialized team. The department staff are both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified.

Our Emergency Department Offers:

Adult Emergency: It provides emergency care for adult patients in two separate divisions; one for male and one for female. Immediate care is provided for a wide variety of cases and referral to relevant specialists is available 24 hours.
Pediatric Emergency: A fully-equipped and staffed pediatric emergency division is dedicated to provide immediate care to pediatrics with acute illnesses such as gastroenteritis, fever, respiratory tract infections, asthma, urinary tract infections, cut wounds, and febrile convulsion.
Obstetrics and Gynecology Emergency: A special room is designed to provide care to obstetric patients and to manage emergency deliveries.
Critical Care and Resuscitation: A fully-fledged resuscitation room is dedicated to provide immediate care to patients with critical and life-threatening situations.
High level of privacy: All patients whether adults or pediatrics receive care in individual rooms which optimize privacy and confidentiality protection.
Timely Care: All patients in the ED are triaged as a mean to prioritize and attend those with the most urgent medical needs immediately without any delay of services. In addition, patients with cardiac symptoms are directly referred to cardiologists from the triage room which enhances the process of providing quality of care by saving time.
Support Services: 24 hour readily available ancillary services (such as radiology and laboratory) as well as customer services.
Around the Clock Ambulance Services: Two fully-equipped ambulances are 24 hours staffed and available to respond to calls from outside the hospital as well as to serve for transferring patients.
